Buying An All In One Fitness System

It seems that now a days, more people are steering clear of memberships to the gym and choosing to invest their money in a home gym.  They make this choice because they can put a home gym in a spare corner of their home, or even in the basement.  Along with helping them save money by combining several different types of equipment into one machine, these machines easily fit in small spaces and take up a lot less space than their individual counterparts.

I’m fortunate enough to have an all in one fitness system in the apartment complex, but from my understanding they are looking to upgrade their current system with something more up to date. Out of curiosity I’ve done some research on the subject and from what I read, when you are considering buying an all in one piece of exercise equipment, you should first analyze your goals.  You should consider what you would like to achieve from exercising and just how this piece machine will benefit your goal. One of the biggest achievements I feel I’d receive from an all in one fitness machine is the ability to shape my body a little better. After losing weight, I feel I have some problem areas that just didn’t lose weight in the way I would like.

There are several types of all in one equipment for exercise available today and almost all of them are advertised well on television.  The most popular types are those types that are geared towards individuals who are interested in lifting weights. So far my weight loss has been achieved primarily through cardio exercise, so a new exercise center may encourage me to lift more weight. I am excited to find out what type of machine the apartment complex purchases.

The two most popular types of all in one exercise systems are the Total Gym and Bowflex brands.  The Total Gym system sounds great, it is advertised bythe legondary martial arts expert Chuck Norris.  It is less expensive than the Bowflex and uses gravity and resistance instead of traditional weights. By using this system, you can adapt the machine to a large variety of exercises that tone many different areas of the body.

The Bowflex system uses resistant bows that you bend instead of the traditional weights you lift.  Becuase Bowflex is designed to fit a wide variety of budgets and needs, it’s likely that the apartment could purchase one of these. To make things even better, you can store the basic Bowflex system in small and tight places. This could possibly give them room to expand the laundry area, which is housed in the same location. From what I’ve read, the more expensive Blowflex system competes with  the professional equipment that you can find in gyms, which allow for a quality workout on quality equipment. This would be a welcome change over the simple wieghts available at our gym now.

Even though Bowflex and Total Gym are the two most popular brands of all in one equipment, there are several others out there as well. I look foward to seeing the choice the apartment complex makes, and can’t wait to see what other equipment they bring to the gym.
