Have somebody that leans too far fwd during lunges? Put the weight on the front, like the video below, and the person will have to pull their body upright to fight the weight.

Joanie - Any luck in finding the "workout gloves" you mentioned? I've enjoyed the program, but continually struggly holding the remotes, especially when I use heavier resistance bands.

Thanks

You can also use an ace bandage as a holder for the nunchuck, it works well too. Just wrap it around the leg a few times and slip it between the top two layers.

PS: I added your concerns about the Leg Strap to the most recent article I wrote about EA Sports Active. Thank you for the information. I'm probably going to write an article about the multi-player functionality of the game in my next article, so if anyone has any comments about that please post them here and I'll be sure to research them when I write my article.

Jeanne, I'm not sure if you've found this Article on the EA Sports Active site yet, but take a look:
http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/235913.page

In particular there is a section that says:
"If you're having trouble with the strap getting around your thigh, the Nunchuk can still detect running if it's placed in a pocket. (It's much better if the pocket holds the Nunchuk securely and in approximately the same position and orientation as the leg strap...)

Another option would be to sew the leg strap or a similar pocket to a pair of pants that you don't mind modifying. Finally, if you found a appropriate length "bungie" type of cord you could make an extender to make the strap longer so it fits better around your leg."

I hope that helps!

Now that I've had a few days to try it out, I completely agree with everything you said. The resistance band doesn't offer much resistance, but I really think it is great to start out with. There are a number of different resistance bands available at Amazon.com which I think I'll end up purchasing eventually, they range from 3 to 42 lbs of resistance. Ripcords Exercise Bands - Power Tension 5 Pack

I am very disppointed in the leg strap. If you are heavy it does not fit. They should have thought of this since it is a work out game and many people who are trying to lose weight can't use it. Waste of my money.

Bought Sports Active yesterday and tried it out. The resistance band that comes with it is pretty lame. I will be looking to get one that offers much more resistance. I am also going to see if I can create a pair of workout gloves that will hold the Wiimote and nunchuck so that I can incorporate free weights into some of the exercises. I'm thinking a pair of weight gloves that I have and sew some elastic loops on the back to hold the remotes in place. If anyone comes out with gloves as an accessory for this game, I'm so buying them.

The game itself was great. I did two workouts last night and one this morning. I love that it's a continuous workout. What I hated about the WiiFit was that I had to pause and navigate through the menus to switch from one exercise to the next. EA has solved that problem.
